A surf road trip to Spain & France. #FarahintheSURF.
Me and my friend Lilla drove all the way from Barcelona through the beautiful Spanish roads towards Zarautz near San Sebastian. We stayed at the surf camp of Stoke Travel where I used to work.
Stoke Travel turned an old cute farm into a peaceful and super fun surf camp. Located right on top of a hill with stunning views and good vibes only. When you stay with Stoke you don’t only learn how to ride the waves you will also make friends for life.
Waking up early to catch the sun rising from the hills. Ready for a good surf sesh down the beach. When you get back from playing in the water, a delicious breakfast is waiting for you.
I discovered the surf camp a couple of years ago for the first time and loved it so much that I didn’t want to leave anymore. I ended up working there during summer. Since then I have come back every year. It is not like a ‘summer camp’ for kids. No, the vibe is relaxed, you can do whatever you want, you can come whenever you want all summer long and stay as long as you want.
The rest of the day at surf camp consists of getting flexible during yoga, forest walks, making new friends, playing with the house cat or learning how to play the ukulele. In the evening you can roast marshmallows in the bon fire and if there is not a big party with lots of dancing and music going on than you can just chill and cuddle up together while watching a movie on a big screen.
There are always fun activities planned like wine tasting, horse riding and or visiting the nearby city San Sebastian. Me and Lilla decided to cross boundaries and explore Biarritz in France which is only one hour drive away. We had so much fun and can’t wait to go again.
It does not matter if you have never surfed before or already know how to catch some barrels. Stoke Travel’s surf camp is for everyone. Def one to add to your bucket list.
