Israel and especially Tel Aviv is one of my newest favourite places on earth! Wow, I was absolutely stunned and I can’t wait to go back. In Tel Aviv, the people are super nice, open-minded and guest free. The food is amazing, the nightlife is buzzing, there is lots of sunshine, beautiful sunsets and you can even surf! In this article all about what to do in Tel Aviv and Israel.
Is it safe?
Absolutely yes. Of course you have to avoid certain areas in Israel and if you stay on the tourist track you are more than fine. In between zones of conflict, especially Tel Aviv is one of the safest cities I have ever been to. You can wear whatever you want, do what you want, walk around alone, smoke weed everywhere and I wasn’t even afraid to get pick pocketed.
Best way to explore Israel
We did an organised day trip with a tour bus and a guide, but to be honest. If you can, def rent a car and explore the desert and dead area by yourself. The road is amazing and the views are stunning.
Must go’s in Israel
Floating in the Dead Sea is super funny. You feel like you are flying. One thing! Whatever you do… do NOT shave before you go into the Dead Sea. The salt water hurts! After you can get a free spa treatment… I’d rather call it rolling in the mud. It is apparently very good for your skin and I admit… my skin felt as soft as a baby’s bottom.
Go to the Masada which is a big hill in the desert. With a cable cart you can go all the way to the top. The view is stunning but also expect lots of tourists with white socks and sandals.
Ein Gedi is a national park near with the second largest oasis in Israel. It is def one of Israel’s desert wonders with some beautiful waterfalls.
Jerusalem is also a vibrant city. All the houses have the same sandy color, there is a big golden dome and you can put a note into the Western Wall. Note: the city is located higher than the rest of the country so it is a bit colder.
What to do in Tel Aviv
There are so many amazing places to eat or to go out in Tel Aviv. Just walking around you will find whatever you need. Rotchild street, Dizingof street and Allenby street are the main streets full of bars, restaurants and nightlife. You def should go to ‘Rova’ for food and drinks.
A trendy neighbourhood is Florentin full of street art.
Get lost in the old town, Jaffa.
As you see there are so many things to see and explore in Israel. If you haven’t been you really have to go. I can’t wait to go back!
