I always say ‘yes’ to new experiences and adventures! Working as a freelancer and traveling around the world gives me the opportunity to always do different things. This weekend I did something I never thought I would do. I had the amazing opportunity to hang out backstage at Daydream festival and interview the dj’s after their set. It is like a mini Tomorrowland in Barcelona and although I don’t listen to elektronik house music every day, I was super excited as many of the dj’s are from Belgium.
I met DJ Mattn, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Lucas & Steve, W&W, Dj Brooks and more. They were all so nice and the vibe was great! I didn’t know how to get back to the center of Barcelona. I would have a lift to go back early but then I would miss the best part of the festival. So I decided to take the risk to stay, see what was gonna happen, go for the adventure and hopefully find another lift back home.
Then I met Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. They were super cool and also from Antwerp, the same city as I am from. Together with their crew we all ended up having a little pre-party before they had to play. Suddenly before I even realised I was with them, right on top of main stage in front of more than 20.000 people. It was unreal.
I was lucky to jump with them and the crew in the car and go straight to Opium, one of the biggest and most famous night clubs in the city. We partied till sunrise and had a great time. I met some amazing people and can’t wait to go to Ibiza this summer to party some more!
Life is all about opportunities, taking some risks and saying ‘yes’ to unexpected things. If I would have taken the safe and responsible decision to go back home earlier in the evening with the only transport I thought I had, this all would have never happend.
